Dermis: Cultural Tattoos and the Stories that Lie within the Skin is a short docu-series that explores cultural tattooing across various cultures. This doc-series seeks to inform and share the importance of the continuance, preservation, and revitalization of these sacred cultural practices. 

    The Western understanding of tattoos paints them in either a negative light or a manner of personal preference and importance. However, in different parts of the world and various cultures, tattooing is considered a sacred or traditional practice. These practices not only allow people to wear their story with pride but also permits the passing down of cultural traditions, stories, and the livelihood of their ancestors.
